Frequently Asked Questions
Luna is a system of smart security cameras with AI integration. It includes an indoor camera, a lightbulb camera, and a baby camera. While most security cameras incorporate some kind of motion detection, Luna takes it up another notch, by using AI to identify animals, people, cars, and more. The cameras send descriptive notifications straight to the Luna app. For example, if a delivery person drops off a package, you will receive a push notification saying, "Man delivers package to front porch.” With the Premium Security plan, you can even arm and disarm your security cameras like a security system, so that professional monitoring can be notified when your security cameras pick something up while your cameras are armed.
There are a few things that set Luna apart from other smart cameras.
- AI-enabled descriptive alerts: Most smart cameras send generic “motion detected” alerts when they detect something. Luna goes another step, recognizing people, pets, packages, cars, and faces, so your alerts are customized for your home.
- Professional monitoring enabled: Most smart cameras can only be self-monitored. While Luna provides that option, we’ve also partnered with COPS monitoring to provide the ability to dispatch authorities to your home. When your cameras are “armed,” you’ll receive alerts with the option to dispatch authorities. If you request dispatch, our monitoring team will take it from there and ensure the police arrive shortly after.
- Breathing monitoring and care logging: The Luna Baby Eye camera allows you to monitor your baby’s sleep/wake cycles, crying, and even breathing, all without wearables.
The Luna Baby Eye is an innovative new camera that functions like a wearable baby monitor, minus the wearables. It uses advanced technology to monitor your baby’s breathing and movements, sending you smart alerts when your baby needs you.
The app also includes care logging, including sleep, wake, and feeding cycles, diaper changes, and more!
No one can see your camera footage but you, unless you choose to share it. The monitoring team cannot access your live camera feed or stored footage. Instead, when your cameras are armed, you can choose to alert the professional monitoring team through the Luna app, and they will receive a notification without footage.
Yes. Luna offers three subscription options, depending on your needs. The different levels are:
- Basic ($69.99/year or $6.99/month): Self-monitoring for a single camera
- Enhanced ($99.99/year or $9.99/month): Self-monitoring for up to 10 cameras
- Premium ($119.99/year or $14.99/month): Pro monitoring for up to 10 cameras, along with arming and disarming capabilities and emergency dispatch.
Installing Luna is incredibly simple! Just download the Luna AI app from the App Store or Google Play Store. Order your cameras, then once they arrive, you can install them by simply plugging them in with the included power adapters (or screwing them into a light socket, in the case of the lightbulb camera). Then, just scan the QR codes on the cameras through your Luna app.
If Luna isn’t connecting, check that your router is set to the 2.4 GHz wavelength. 2.4 GHz offers a longer range ideal for security cameras and other security equipment. If your router is on the correct wavelength, ensure that your cameras are screwed in. If you still have questions, you can reach out to Luna support at 855.604.5862.
Yes! We do not sell your information to 3rd parties, and the monitoring team cannot access anything beyond the notifications of activity on your cameras.
